Connect the ground wire to the green screw on the disposal and replace the cover plate.
Replace garbage disposal with regular drain.
Now complete the removal process by pushing up the drain through the sink.
If you are installing a garbage disposal of the same brand then you could keep the mounting bracket on the sink drain rather than removing it.
Rotate the disposal until it is properly aligned then attach the drain arm and dishwasher drainpipe.
