When you tried to underlay a floor only doors and windows were visible.
Revit roof plan underlay.
On the properties.
Walls doors windows nothing is select able.
In this example my roof element is at level 1.
So i change the underlay parameter you find this is the properties palette to the level where your roof or roof light canopy etc resides.
In the view properties expand the underlay drop down and select the level on which the roof was created to display as an underlay.
We recently had a team working on a high rise project and they wanted to use the level 8 plan as an underlay for the level 5 design.
Revit displays the modify linework contextual ribbon.
3d view of roof begin by opening the plan view in which you want to see the roof line overhang as a hidden line.
In the properties dialog box for the view you want to see the overhang lines in set the underlay drop down to be the level on which the roof was created.
Plumbing fixtures appliances etc but now in 2019 i am unable to select anything in the underlay.
1 st floor no overhang.
In other words using a level above as a reference for a lower level.
Use the underlay parameters on the properties palette to set an underlay.
Now it s at this point where i could just trace over the perimeter.
If you re experiencing problems displaying elements using the underlay property of a revit view the feature just might be behaving as designed.
When i draw a roof plan i keep the level below on as an underlay which is automatic when opening the roof view.
This makes the roof line visible in the plan view but the lines appear as solid lines.
In the main floor level the bottom of the primary range is set to main floor with an offset of 1.
This issue occurs because there is an incorrect view range in the main view.
Create an underlay when you need to understand the relationship of components at different levels for coordination and construction.
If the view range intersects the geometry of a level in your main view that level cannot be used as an underlay in the main view.
But up until i upgraded to revit 2019 i always selected items in the underlay that i didn t want to show up and hid them.
Once i do this my roof element become visible in the ground floor plan.
For example you may want to set an underlay for the casework in the kitchen to make it easier to place the light fixtures above.
